Super soft and super absorbent, this heavyweight, double-sided microfiber terry is made of special filaments that are three times finer than silk.
When cutting, use a sharp knife or scissors as the fabric can easily fray. If you prefer to pre-wash, serge all sides to prevent unraveling of threads. Pre-washing is optional; it won’t hurt the fabric, but it isn’t necessary.
CPSIA certified, meeting stringent standards by the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission on lead and phthalates and flammability.
All Zorb fabrics are designed with the ability to exponentially increase their absorbency; using multiple layers of Zorb for your product will significantly increase its already impressive absorption capacity.
Our Zorb Microfiber Terry Plus Fabric is so absorbent that it can soak up eight times its weight in less than two seconds. It works 20 times faster than materials like bamboo, cotton, and hemp knits. The fibers are constructed to distribute moisture and hold that moisture within the fabric.
Easy to Use
This fabric does not require pre-washing, so you can start on your project quickly. If you decide to prewash the fabric, serge it first on all sides so the threads don’t come loose. When creating your product, it’s good to cut the fabric with a sharp knife or a pair of scissors since the material can easily fray.
Our Zorb Microfiber Terry Plus Fabric is a heavyweight, double-sided microfiber terry toweling-type material.
The fabric is ideal for activewear, bathrobes, bibs, cage liners, cloth diapers, dog diapers, menstrual pads, mop pads, nursing pads, period panties, pet potty pads, towels, unpaper towels, washcloths, and yoga towels.
If you need soft fabric that will get the job done, this is what you need!

Important Note about UPF Ratings:
Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) indicates how much UV radiation (both UVB and UVA) a fabric allows to reach your skin. For example, a UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 % of the sun’s rays and allows 2% (1/50th) to penetrate, thus reducing your exposure risk significantly. A UPF 30 fabric blocks 97% of UV rays and allows roughly 3% of UV transmission. UPF 15 indicates that the fabric blocks roughly 93% of UV rays and allows about 7% of available UV radiation to pass through.
UPF 10 to 30 = Fair Protection
UPF 30 to 50 = Good Protection
UPS 50+ = Excellent Protection

Important Note about Sharp Blades when cutting Microfiber Terry Fabrics
Microfiber terry Plus is a unidirectional knit. It has to be cut using a very sharp blade and one with no nicks or burrs. If not it can fray very easily and seemingly tear apart. That is somewhat like in knits when you pull at one stitch the entire line unravels. Typically it frays when cut from the leading edge. This is the edge where the blade can catch on to one stitch and it gets pulled apart in what looks like a tear. If this happens use a different blade or sharp scissors, and try cutting from the other sides. One edge is typically more fragile and prone to unraveling than the other three. When we cut the MFT Plus for orders we make sure to sharpen the cutter blade first. And if it still gets caught while cutting we use a new blade for cutting. This is also the reason why it is not recommended to pre-wash the fabric before sewing. Fibers from the leading edge can get caught in anything sharp and unravel the fabric completely.
Additional Care Instructions:
It is not recommended to pre-wash before sewing. If you prefer to pre-wash, serge (or sew/finish) all open edges to prevent unraveling of threads. However it is recommended to wash before using it.
Liquid detergent is preferred over powder because there is a chance that the powder will not dissolve completely and in that case the powder will be stored inside the microfiber. This risk is compounded if cold water is used. Remember, microfibers tend to hold everything, so use half the quantity of detergent you would normally use.
Never wash with fabric softeners. The microfiber will accumulate the softeners and over a period of time, will be saturated with it, reducing its efficiency.
Never wash the microfiber with other terry or other fabric which has lint. The microfiber will treat lint or any other fibers and dirt particles and store the particles inside the microfiber reducing its efficiency.
Do not wash with anything sharp or with anything that has hook tape. Sharp objects can snag the loops and cause them to run. Hook tape will attach to the loops and tear the fabric.
Never dry the microfiber in a dryer on high heat. It could actually melt the fibers with excessive heat and lock the traps. Dry on low heat and permanent press is the best setting.
